As I sit here on my family room couch gazing out the picture window, I marvel. The air is clinquant with tiny bits of feathery snow illuminated by the winter sun. It’s as if God Himself were strewing shimmery ice confetti from the heavenlies. Meanwhile, the goldfinches and junkos flit from feeder to tree to steaming birdbath to tree and back to feeders in much the same way as the ice confetti moves this way and that by unseen currents. They are the confetti of the bird world during the winter months. They flutter here and there, swooping, flitting, dipping, disappearing and reappearing magically.
What a lovely, glittery sight to enjoy.
